Every year, NBA fans all over the world get to vote for who they want to start for the Eastern and Western All-Stars. After that, the coaches vote for seven players to come off the bench. If any player among those voted by the fans won’t be able to play, the commissioner then names a replacement.

This is how it has been for a while but the process isn’t exactly fool-proof. To start, Yao Ming was elected as a Western Conference starter even though he barely played this year. Next, the coaches do not have a strict formula for their votes. Some consider purely statistics while others also take into consideration the wins that a player’s team has.

Some players get snubbed in the process but year in and year out, we get a roster of good NBA players that give us a show come the All-Star game. Here are the rosters for the Eastern and Western Conference All-Stars.
