The Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto  or Association of Basketball Clubs is the premiere professional basketball league in Spain. It was established way back in 1956 under the name Liga Nacional back then. For the 2011-2012 season, it will be known as Liga Endesa.

The ACB League is considered by many to be the best basketball league in Europe and one of the very best in the whole world.

Liga ACB was the home of players who are currently in the NBA such as Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Luis Scola, Rudy Fernandez, and Ricky Rubio. It is also the current home of former NBA players such as Coby Karl, Pape Sow, Jorge Garbajosa, and Juan Carlos Navarro.

There are 18 teams in league who play a double round robin. Each team play 36 games each, half of these at home and half away.

This Sunday, BTV will air the game between CB Lucentum Alicante and Valencia Basketball Club.

CB Lucentum Alicante  was promoted to Liga ACB after winning he Copa Principe Championship back in 2009. but the team has stuggled against the much stonger teams in the big league. This season, CB Lucentum Alicante is out to make a statement and avoid relegation.

Valencia has very good player including Florent Pietrus, younger brother of Mickael.  They have finished fifth for two straight years and they are out to make it at least to the semi-finals this season.
