FIBA-Asia Championship tickets go on sale tomorrow; team preps for New Zealand tripDate Posted: 26 June 2013 0 Comments
Tickets for the 2013 FIBA-Asia Championship that will be held in Manila from August 1-11 will be available to the public starting tomorrow, according to SM Tickets.
Those who are interested to purchase tickets can visit www.smtickets.com or by visiting any SM Ticket outlet.
The announcement was first made by Gilas-Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes through his Twitter account. Reyes also mentioned that Gilas' final 12-man roster for the tournament has yet to be decided.
The Philippine National basketball team will begin their quest for the FIBA-Asia title on August 1 (Monday) when they take on Saudi Arabia. Gilas will play against Jordan the following day and matchup against Chinese-Taipei during the third day of the tournament. All games will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena and will begin at 8:30PM.
According to Gilas assistant coach Nash Racela, the team has focused more on offense since their return from Lithuania.
In an interview with Solar Sports Desk, Racela also mentioned that while the team has improved over the past couple of days, there is still work to be done before they get ready for the FIBA tournament.
“(We’re) maybe at 70-75 percent,” he said.
Gilas-Pilipinas team manager Butch Antonio also said that the team is currently making plans to visit New Zealand in order to take part in a few tune-up games.
"We are still finalizing New Zealand plans," he said. Hopefully, we get at least five games there. But nothing firm yet,” said Antonio.
