Once Brothers on BTV

They used to be inseparable. A center from Serbia and and do-it-all forward from Croatia. They used to play under the same flag. They used to win competition after competition with YUGOSLAVIA written on their jerseys.

Vlade Divac and Drazen Petrovic were two of the best players ever produced in Europe. Their exploits opened the gates for the present European players. Current NBA players such as Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Linas Kleiza, Vladimir Radmanovic, and Ricky Rubio all owe part of their success to the ones who came before.

Divac had a fruitful career with the LA Lakers and later the Sacramento Kings but very few people remember Petrovic as he played in a time when the NBA was not nearly as big it is today. Fans from the Philippines did not have a consitent avenue where they can watch NBA games so Petrovic is not a name that is all too familiar.

As the first offering of our PERSPECTIVES: Sports Documentaries on Solar, we present Once Brothers, the story of the friendship between Divac and Petrovic. Once Brothers offers a chance to know what kind of players the two were before they made it to the NBA.
